Handkerchief Thief, the moniker of Melbourne singer/songwriter Sam McLaren, will be launching his second single ‘Hanging On’ in an intimate solo performance. Joining him on stage are two amazing Melbournian singer/songwriters: Feelds and Dalli.

August 2017 saw Handkerchief Thief, the moniker of Melbourne-based artist Sam McLaren, release his very first musical offering to the world: debut single ‘Salted Skin’. Drawing accolades from music blogs in all corners of the globe, the single was described by one US music blog as “without a doubt one of the best musical debuts I’ve heard, I am really debating if it is not the best (Wolf in a Suit)."

Following on from the success of ‘Salted Skin’, Handkerchief Thief’s second single ‘Hanging On’ is an emotional epic that draws upon McLaren's close encounters with death and the dying while working in hospitals. The intimacy of Hibernian House will provide the perfect ambiance for Handkerchief Thief’s unique brand of indie-folk, performing songs from the upcoming debut EP in their raw elemental form, just a guitar and McLaren’s trademark voice, traversing haunting depths and soaring to angelic falsetto heights.

Melbourne-made Feelds has become the cultivation of musician James Seymour’s distinct ability to mould minimal instrumentation and vocal interplay through a well-established blend of songwriting. After recently returning from a tour through Canada and the US, Feelds is now equipped with a self-produced debut EP full of fresh, ambitious songs that are set for release in early 2018.

Dalli writes heavy hitting indie songs with lush electric elements. Rich song-wrtiing and emotionally charged vocals will hit you right in the feels. With notes of alt-J, Radiohead and City and Colour, Dalli recently released his moving debut single ‘Who Are You’. His second single is due for release in February 2018.

Doors open at 8pm.
