Transforming art! From life drawing to character design.
A new two-day class with illustrator and published author, Tull Suwannakit. Tull is founder of the Malvern School of Art and has offered illustration and mixed media workshops in association with Duldig Studio in 2016.
Day 1 of the workshop covers line, form and movement using Karl Duldig’s sculptures as an inspiration. On Day 2 students transform their life drawing into imaginative characters through the development of a design, looking at form/function, style and personality using lines, pattern, textures and colours. Maximum 8 participants. Suitable for young people over the age of 9.
Plus $5.00 materials charge.
Duldig Studio, house museum and sculpture garden, was the former home and artists' studio of sculptor Karl Duldig (1902-1986) and his wife - artist and inventor Slawa Duldig née Horowitz (c1902-1975). Duldig Studio offers creative and fun educational programs informed and inspired by our art collection. Our Curator and Sculptor-in-Residence, Stefan Damschke, was a student of Karl Duldig. Stefan worked alongside Karl Duldig and was his assistant in Karl’s later years. He teaches students using clay modelling methods favoured by Karl. This continues the heritage of teaching and creativity at the Duldig Studio, as an extension of our Artists’ Studio. The City of Stonnington proudly supports Duldig Studio’s Art For All Ages programs.
