Such is the power and appeal of Grenache, that Hardys is celebrating International Grenache Day over three days this year.

Many wineries in the McLaren Vale region will be staging their own events and Hardys Tintara is taking the opportunity to profile the newly released Hardys Tintara Reserve Grenache and Reynella Grenache.

Visitors to cellar door this weekend can select a flight which includes these two wines as well as some special back vintages. These will be matched to a delightful cheese pairing of a Spanish Manchego and French D'affinois. Bookings are not required.

The Grenache grape was once known as the Red of Aragon (Tinto Aragonés), and International Grenache Day is held to celebrate its history and the contributions it made to some of the world’s most delightful wines.

This grape has such an amazingly diverse flavour profile throughout its life, from raspberry/strawberry with a white pepper spice note in its early life, to aging in the wine to produce leathery and tar flavours.

Visitors are also encouraged to check out the newly opened Fleurieu Art House a dynamic creative hub which celebrates the vibrancy and talent of South Australia’s artists and designers, and located on the grounds of Hardys Tintara cellar door.

The space has been exquisitely renovated to house a number of artist studios, an artisan retail shop, workshop space and art gallery. Ongoing exhibitions will showcase work of resident studio artists who are collectively some of the region’s most award-winning, celebrated, established and emerging talent.
