Jackie returns with her superb line-up to play at Lido Cinema's hidden gem, the Lido Jazz Room. Featuring the exciting guitarist James Sherlock, the multi-award winning Sam Anning on bass and stellar drummer James McLean. Jackie will perform a selection of her favourite Bossas, Ballads and Cool Jazz tunes. NB Lido gigs are now 8-10pm. Jackie Bornstien (voice)
Having performed venues in Australia and the UK over the past 15 years, Jackie has developed a particular talent for storytelling through song. Known for her richly toned vocals and ability to get to the heart of a tune, Jackie imparts a range of emotions through her use of varied vocal timbres. Trained classically as a child, Jackie went on to study jazz voice at the Victorian College of the Arts. She was awarded a UK Masters scholarship and focused her thesis on the role of the arts/music in conflict resolution.

James Sherlock (guitar)
James Sherlock is one of Melbourne's most accomplished and exciting jazz guitarists. As a highly sought after accompanist, James has performed or recorded with such diverse artists as New York jazz vocalist Sheila Jordan, French jazz singer and rising star Cyrille Aimee, British guitar virtuoso Martin Taylor, The Melbourne Symphony Orchestra, Megan Washington, Katie Noonan, New York film composer Howard Shore and many more. James has performed at all major festivals across Australia, was the winner of the Ike Isaacs International Jazz Guitar Award and featured with his trio in the ABC TV Jazz Series "The Pulse".

Sam Anning (bass)
A mutli-award winner and an indispensable fixture on the Australian jazz scene, Sam has performed with Australian jazz greats such as Allan Browne, Joe Chindamo, Aaron Choulai and Paul Grabowsky, and top international jazz artists including Joe Lovano, George Garzone, Gilad Hekselman, Greg Osby, and Charlie Haden. He has toured nationally and internationally including performances at prestigious international jazz festivals such as Montreal, Vancouver, Detroit, Jazz a Vienne, Copenhagen, Port au Prince, and Panama.

James McLean (drums)
Drummer James McLean is fast establishing himself as one of the leading young voices in Australian Jazz and improvised music. In 2016 James was awarded the prestigious Freedman Jazz Fellowship – becoming the first drummer to receive the award. He has performed/recorded with the Eugene Ball Quartet, Paper House, Blind Spot, Shaun Rammers Quintet, Andrea Keller's Transient trios, Ben Monder and more.
