This November, Think Inc., the team behind Australian tours of Dr Neil deGrasse Tyson, Dr Jane Goodall, Dr Michio Kaku and Dr Brian Greene, bring Australian audiences futurist and explorer of the metaphysics of imagination, Jason Silva. Jason is set to expound on the power of science, technology, philosophy and creativity in Melbourne, and then in Sydney as part of Skepticon Australia: a festival celebrating science and scientific scepticism. His work challenges creativity, innovation, the co-evolution of human and technology, existentialism and the human condition.

Futurist and ‘epiphany addict’, Jason likes ideas, their tenacity, flexibility, their contagious nature, their impact and their ability to expand, procreate and evolve into new ideas. Silva has gained a huge following for his popularising takes on philosophy and the thrilling possibilities of creativity and technology.

Through his Shots of Awe series, Silva serves up invigorating shots of ‘philosophical espresso’ in a format designed to be short, infectious and easily spread—“think of them a inspired nuggets of techno-rapture”. In the collection of videos, Silva invites audiences to share his glee in the rising and wondrous role of technology in amplifying intelligence and creativity. “We use our tools to extend our range of possibilities, we use our tools to extend our reach, to extend the impact on our consciousness, to extend our will. Technology is the human imagination turned inside out,” he says.

As the Emmy-nominated host of National Geographic Channel’s #1 rated and Emmy-nominated series, Brain Games, Silva left audiences in state of wonderment. Audiences have enjoyed his mind-bending insights through TED talks, SXSW lectures, Microsoft TechEd Australia presentations, a guest feature on Neil deGrasse Tyson’s Star Talk, and an appearance on Australia’s Q&A in 2012. Like all the best communicators, Silva’s strength is a tangible excitement for his subject matter. In his signature rapid-fire delivery style, he pulls from a vast mental repository of tech knowledge and quotes from fellow futurists and artists to create an exhilarating, immediate experience.

In November, let Think Inc. and Jason Silva pull you out of your intellectual comfort zone and launch you into a flight of possibilities.
