Josh Needs is a young singer, songwriter and virtuoso guitarist with a musical brilliance far beyond his years. His career highlights have already included collaborations with some of the greatest names in Australian music.

The story of the young singer, songwriter and extraordinary guitarist began as his eleven-year-old self picks up his instrument of choice for the first time after aspiring to play like one of his older brothers. He began playing professionally at 13, writing songs at 14, and throughout his later teens, performing solo, and in bands wherever he could, honing his craft and developing what would become the dynamite live show that he is known for today. Bringing his high energy stage presence to such festivals as Australia’s Woodford, Blues On Broadbeach, Airlie Beach Music Festival, Tamworth and an appearance at the Sydney Opera House. As well as touring and sharing stages with the likes of Ian Moss, The Animals, Bay City Rollers, Diesel, Russell Morris, Jon Stevens, Tommy & Phil Emmanuel, Kevin Borich, Joe Camilleri and The Bushwhackers.

March 2017 sees Josh release his latest product “Vector” [EP] consisting of 5 tracks all vocal and all original of songs that best represent Josh as an artist at this point in time.Taking inspirations from John Mayer, Ed Sheeran, and The Emmanuel Bros, Josh recorded these songs at A-Sharp Studios in Riverwood, Sydney working with producer and engineer Nathan Sheehy.

The winner of the Tamworth Country Music Festival Busking competition (2013) graduated from the prestigious Academy of Country Music in Tamworth 2015. The Academy is a rare opportunity for singers, performers and songwriters to work with leading musicians and artists who'll help develop their skills. Additionally, Josh was one of 23 selected out of the entire population of music students in New South Wales who completed the HSC Music course in 2014 to perform at the prestigious Sydney Opera House. This was an incredible honour and will be an experience he’ll never forget.

Kevin Borich (The La De Das, Party Boys & Kevin Borich Express) wrote: “Maturing all the time this young Wiz has the "Hey! Stop, watch & listen” mojo that people can't help but do where ever he performs!”

Russell Morris wrote: “Josh Needs is one of those unique talents that you know is going to succeed. He reminds me of a young Keith Urban—relentless, with his enthusiasm. Ignore him, at your own peril.”

Josh is regarded as a leading light in his style of music, with a reputation for making festivals buzz, holding crowds in his calloused guitar shredded hands, dropping jaws and stunning audiences wherever he goes.

Josh is now living in Sydney playing almost everyday of the week at pubs, clubs, bars and music venues not only in Sydney but also in the Newcastle, Mid-North Coast, Gold Coast, Brisbane and Melbourne areas. He hopes the release of this EP will allow for bigger venues and larger audiences as he continues to travel with his music. Josh has a unique discipline, unfaltering focus and determination and these coupled with his extreme passion and love of music will ensure his musical career is extraordinary.
