Award-winning funny man Idris Stanton (Pants Down Circus, Papillon) returns to Melbourne with a one-man comedy show that combines stand up, physical comedy and classic time honoured circus stunts. The Last King of Vaudeville is an entertaining journey through the glory days gone by, where noble vaudevillian artists were superstars, whilst reinventing the routines that did so. This is a one hour, one man tribute to the classic vaudeville layout, blended with Stanton’s own modern style of observational comedy.

This solo variety show aims to be more than just entertainment, it explores the differences in entertainment through the ages, and promotes conversation about modern technology and our addiction to instant gratification. Stanton aims to highlight the similarities between the old and new, and explore how we can open a new age of entertainment that is mentally stimulating and all-inclusive. This production is proudly presented by AfterDark Theatre.
