Seppeltsfield Road’s iconic avenue of palms sweeps through the vineyards of the western Barossa, passing through the tiny villages of Marananga and Seppeltsfield. The region is home to renowned wineries as well as a diverse number of small batch wine producers. Each year, the Marananga Wine Show offers an extraordinary experience, an invitation to taste through the breadth of the wines on offer from this unique part of the Barossa.

An initiative of the Marananga Lutheran Church, the annual event showcases wines from the western Barossa and is the only sub-regional wine show in Australia. The public tasting provides guests a rare opportunity to taste more than 120 wine entries, and to cast their vote for the People’s Choice award. Held in The Vintage Cellar of Seppeltsfield Winery, the public tasting is a celebration that offers guests a taste of western Barossa hospitality and the renowned winemaking traditions of this local community.

Gourmet food lovers will want to combine a visit to the Marananga Wine Show Public Tasting with one of the exceptional culinary experiences in the region—Hentley Farm Restaurant, Appellation at the Louise and Fino at Seppeltsfield. And a wide range of accommodation awaits those who want to extend their experience for an entire weekend!

This event is judged to Australian show judging standards, with the 14th Marananga Wine Show welcoming Corey Ryan (Winemaker, Sons of Eden) as Chair of Judges, Penny Grant (Head sommelier, Ghanem Group) and David LeMire (MW). They will be joined by Will John (Assistant winemaker, Yalumba) as associate judge.

Tickets include a tasting glass and light refreshments. Bookings online at Barossa.com or purchase at the door. Don’t miss this unique opportunity to taste a wide variety of wines produced from within the western Barossa region.
