Melbourne’s very own six-piece soul outfit, fuse together soulful beats, smooth melodies and powerhouse vocals that give this classic sound a modern urban twist. Add in a pinch of R&B and a teaspoon of funk, and you’ve got one delicious combination of sonic flavours.

Mayfield are classy and funky they sound a lot like a martini (shaken, not stirred obviously) in one hand, a light cigar in the other with one foot slowly tapping to the cool, sensual beats, fat grooves and sassy vocals.

They have recently released their long awaited debut album (To a sold out audience at the Gasometer hotel) after the successful release of their 45inch single ‘On The Ropes’ on CHoi Records.

‘Victim Of Circumstance’, Mayfield’s debut record was engineered, produced & mastered by Mayfield’s own drummer Ivan ‘Choi’ Khatchoyan (Cooking on 3 Burners & The Traffic). Since it’s release their album has been featured as PBS FM 106.7 feature album of the week and received international airplay and praise from Craig Charles on BB6 FM in the UK.

The band has carved themselves a strong live reputation as being a staple in the thriving Melbourne soul scene from their high level of musicianship and their ability to get people on the dance floor. The band is fronted by vocal powerhouse, Carla Troiano, who was also a featured vocalist on Melbourne’s ‘Women Of Soul’ that was a collaboration with other female artists such as Kylie Auldist and Chelsea Wilson.

Whilst working on their debut release, Mayfield have been spreading the groove across the festival circuit including St Kilda Festival, Melbourne Music Week, First Crush Festival, End of the Line Festival, Panacea Festival. Live and Local festival and Stonington Jazz Festival.

Mayfield were recently invited to support ARIA Award winners 'Sneaky Sound System' at the Australian Grand Prix and were the Headline “Soul-a-go-go”, amongst many other key live events in Melbourne.
