The Cunning Linguist – John Leung

Like many of the best things in life, the key to good language is great technique. Once you have that down, you can have aural and oral gratification wherever and whenever the mood takes you.

Perhaps you are grappling with grammar. Perhaps you are already a phonetic pro who’s savvy with syntax. Either way, John and his trusty cello, Jackie, will take you on a delightfully sensuous journey through the finer points of linguistics and etymology. It will probably be awkward and a little bit messy, but by the end of the night, you will emerge a master of foreign and familiar tongues.

Following the success of his 2016 solo debut at the Melbourne International Comedy Festival, “8 Things You Didn’t Know About Me”, John Leung is back with his signature brand of gently satirical musical comedy. John is a practitioner of “sit-down” comedy – mostly because he can’t stand and play cello at the same time. John’s comedy is intelligent, witty and keenly observant of the world around him. If Brian Cox and Flight of the Conchords had a comedy baby, it would probably look something like John Leung.
