In 2017, Midsumma Festival is celebrating its 30th year. Through free Signature events and a range of ticketed and free Premier events, exhibitions and performances, Midsumma Festival 2017 is once again Melbourne’s premier event for celebrating queer cultures.

Our three major Hubs – Arts Centre Melbourne, the Gasworks Arts Park and the Hare Hole – will play host to cabaret, comedy, burlesque, exhibitions and films.

On Sun 15 Jan, Midsumma Carnival opens the festival with an all-day-and-night party-in-the-park at Melbourne's Alexandra Gardens. Melbourne's iconic Pride March of solidarity and celebration will roll through the streets of St Kilda on Sun 29 Jan. New Signature event, Midsumma Horizon, will see Melbourne’s iconic Testing Grounds become a new-art party infusing visual art, live performance and music, and will be an opportunity for Melbourne to experience internet art project QueerTech.io. This is a one night only event on Sat 4 Feb.

Through Gowest events; Midsumma Festival, Hobsons Bay City Council and western region councils are supporting and promoting queer communities in Melbourne’s West, with over fifteen events taking place in the western region.

Celebrate a queer summer season, and experience these amazing showcases and events at Midsumma Festival 2017, from Jan 15 to Feb 5.
