Bach and Beyond in Market Sunday Concert.

The Music on a Market Sunday concert in the Uniting Church will feature a feast of music by Bach and others. Joanna Fairs-Wu (soprano), Sofia Debus (violin) and Robyn Bradley (piano) will combine in various combinations to delight the soul.

The program includes J.S . Bach’s E Major Sonata for Violin and Harpsichord BWV 1016. Sofia will join with Robyn to accompany Joanna as she performs two arias from J.S .Bach’s cantatas BWV 115 & 204, Tornami a vagheggiar from George Frederic Handel’s opera Alcina and Morgen Opus 27, No. 4 by Richard Strauss. Other arias on the program are the simply sublime Bist Du Bei Mir, attributed to J.S Bach, and Johann Christian Bach’s Arsinda’s Aria from the Clemency of Scipione.

Sofia, Joanna and Robyn are all highly regarded teachers and performers living in Armidale and have been responsible for some stunning performances in recent times. This is a great opportunity to hear three of Armidale’s leading musicians.

Students enter free. Tea and sausages will be available before the concert.
