Flautist Sally Walker who has performed with orchestras such as the Berlin Philharmonic Orchestra and the Australian Chamber Orchestra, explores the Baroque period in music of Bach and Telemann, and takes us beyond to the Renaissance in music by recorder ensemble the Nova Praetorians.
Nova Praetorians is a Newcastle-based Early Music Recorder ensemble, formed in 2014. Members are: Sally Walker (Descant), Ruth Crosby (Treble), Ben Crosby, José De Doná (Tenor) and Christopher Allan (Bass). Their repertoire has a focal point on early works, particularly those of Praetorius, but extends to the late Baroque.
The event is taking place at the University Gallery, GS Building.
