Experience Britain’s most revolutionary orchestra in a stunning and unique conclusion to Musica Viva’s 2017 International Concert season.

Led by renowned violinist Rachel Podger, these 20 expert musicians come together on period instruments to create the sounds composers like Mozart, Haydn & JC Bach would have heard. In their hands, the big sounds of an orchestra balance perfectly with the intimacy and soloistic talent of chamber music.

For one night only, let this super-sized ensemble take you on their quest for authenticity in a perfect celebration of all the Age of Enlightenment stood for: experimentation, clarity, and reason.

Program:
Haydn Symphony no 26 in E-flat major
Mozart Violin Concerto no 1 in B-flat major, K207
JC Bach Symphony in G minor, op 6 no 6
Mozart Violin Concerto no 5 in A major, K219

ARTISTS:
Orchestra of The Age of Enlightenment
Rachel Podger, director and violin

Tour supported by the Musica Viva Amadeus Society.

Presented by Musica Viva.
