Willowdale residents will be treated to family-friendly musical fun when the Western Sydney Youth Orchestra performs a free concert.

The event includes free refreshments such as coffee, babyccinos and cupcakes. The relaxed and informal concert has been designed to be interactive, informative and lots of fun for youngsters. Children will be encouraged to join in the performance and the event will include the conductor and orchestra members guiding youngsters through different wind instruments and their individual sounds.

Richard Rhydderch, Stockland General Manager, NSW Residential Development, encouraged residents and visitors from around the area to attend the free concert.

"This concert will be perfect for kids and adults alike and is sure to bring a smile to the faces of everyone attending," Mr Rhydderch said.

“Not only will children be able to listen to the beautiful sounds of the orchestra and take part in the event, they will also have an opportunity to learn about wind instruments.

“I would encourage guests to bring a picnic rug, camping chairs or a cushion to sit on so they can enjoy the performance in comfort.”

The orchestra performance is one of a number of activities planned at the community for Willowdale Sustainable House Day, which runs from 10am to 4pm.

Other activities include tours of Willowdale’s Community Place, an 8-star house that showcases the latest in sustainable living, as well as garden games with giant jenga, bocce, quoits and other sports and a free barbecue.

Willowdale is popular with buyers who are drawn in by its location and proximity to local employment centres, educational facilities, shopping centres and recreational areas.

Located in the East Leppington growth precinct, Willowdale is just 15km from Liverpool and with convenience commuter access to the M5 and M7 motorways.

Launched in 2013, Willowdale will eventually comprise more than 3,200 dwellings, including innovative medium density, completed homes, retirement living, a community centre, sports facilities, a proposed new primary school and its own Neighbourhood Retail Centre.
