Elara residents will be treated to family-friendly musical fun when the Western Sydney Youth Orchestra performs a free concert at Stockland’s popular community in Marsden Park.

The event runs from 10am to 11am in the open space beside the Stockland Sales and Information Centre on Elara Boulevard and includes free refreshments such as coffee, babyccinos and cupcakes.

Children will be encouraged to join in the performance and the event will feature orchestra members guiding youngsters through the different wind instruments and their individual sounds.

Richard Rhydderch, Stockland General Manager, NSW Residential Development, encouraged residents and visitors from around the area to attend the free concert.

“This concert will be perfect for kids and adults alike and is sure to bring a smile to the faces of everyone attending,’’ Mr Rhydderch said.

“Not only will children be able to listen to the beautiful sounds of the orchestra and take part in the event, they will also have an opportunity to learn about wind instruments.

“I would encourage guests to bring a picnic rug, camping chairs or a cushion to sit on so they can enjoy the performance in comfort.”

Elara at Marsden Park, in Sydney’s thriving north-west corridor, is set against the backdrop of the Blue Mountains.

When complete, Elara, which is close to the M7 Expressway for easy access to Sydney’s CBD, will include more than 4,000 homes, more than 10,000 residents, a town centre, several playgrounds, a community centre, sports fields, childcare centre and schools.

Almost 2,500 homes sites have already sold at the masterplanned community which was launched to the market in mid-2014 and features a popular social enterprise café called Livvi’s Cafe.

Elara’s first school, St Luke’s Catholic College, opened in January this year and the community will soon be celebrating the official launch of its first sports fields.

Stockland also sponsors free Live Life Get Active sessions at Elara each Monday to Friday during school terms in the park next to the Stockland Sales and Information Centre.

For more information about Elara, visit the Sales and Information Centre at Elara Boulevard, Marsden Park, go online at Stockland, call 13 LAND (13 5263) or follow the community on Facebook.
