Perfect for families with children aged five and younger, Poppy in the Park is a fun and free activity.

Hosted by popular children's' character, Poppy the Possum—an expert at helping young children develop early literacy skills—Poppy in the Park will include story-reading, craft and music activities especially designed to engage infants, toddlers and preschoolers.

To be held at WatervieW Café within the picturesque parklands of Bicentennial Park, Poppy in the Park will be launched on Sunday 1 October at the Waterview Community Fun Day, and then continue every second Tuesday.

While children enjoy play-time with Poppy, parents and guardians can unwind with a coffee, snack or light meal available for purchase from WatervieW Café, with nearby parking and public transport facilities.

Furthermore, Bicentennial Park boasts a range of facilities available daily including playgrounds, water-play areas, free barbeque facilities, picnic pavilions, look-outs, walkways, a Bike Hire shop, cycling tracks, art installations, a bird hide and a mangrove boardwalk.

Bicentennial Park is today the most popular parkland within Sydney Olympic Park, attracting millions of visitors in almost three decades of operation. A 105 hectare hub for recreation, education, leisure, community, business events and environmental-sustainability, Bicentennial Park is a part of the 430 hectares of parklands across Sydney Olympic Park and it is situated in the heart of Sydney and one of the fastest growing urban areas in NSW.

While Poppy in the Park is designed for children aged five and younger, all ages are welcome and bookings are not required.
