This National Film and Sound Archive digitally restored film, The Odd Angry Shot, is a 1979 Australian War film which follows the lives of soldiers in Vietnam, their return to Australia and their reflections on how they and Australian society have changed. The film is based on the novel by William Lawrence Nagle (4 June 1947–5 March 2002) who was an Australian soldier, author, actor, and screenwriter. His first book, The Odd Angry Shot, was written after his return from the Vietnam War.

Cast includes: Graham Kennedy, John Hargreaves, John Jarratt, Bryan Brown and Graeme Blundell amongst many other well-known actors of the time. The writer/director Tom Jeffrey and Producer Sue Milliken will talk with Peter Castaldi after the screening about the making of the film, Australian society at the time, film making from the 70s to now and taking risks in Australian film.
