The Adelaide Central Market will host a celebration of South Australian seafood with the inaugural two-day Seafood and Sounds festival.

From cooking demonstrations to a Chilli Crab Pop-Up, the two-day festival will present a smorgasbord of fun-filled entertainment, live music and masterclasses for lovers of produce from the sea. Seafood producers will team up with SA chefs for free cooking demonstrations at which attendees will learn where their seafood comes from and how to best prepare it at home.

On the Friday one of Australia’s most influential foodies, Adam Liaw, will be in town to headline the program of cooking demonstrations, with two free sessions at 11am and 1pm and he will also present a ticketed masterclass in the historic Market Tower.

With a live soundtrack of jazz and blues throughout the two-day event, the Market will also play host to a gin and bubbles bar, roving oyster shuckers will be serving up fresh, local oysters and the former Cappo’s shopfront on Grote Street will be transformed into a pop-up restaurant serving up Asian style chilli crab.

Gin lovers won’t be disappointed either on Saturday 14 October 2017, with local gin maker, Kangaroo Island Spirits, holding a special ticketed masterclass pairing seafood with their award-winning gin range.
