Shakespeare Monologue & Audition Workshop by Claire Pearson.

It's that time of year again—when acting schools and theatre companies require general auditions, usually requiring at least one Shakespeare monologue. Need to practice? Don't feel as confident as you would like with "The Bard"? Want a day working on your craft? Then please come along.

The workshop will include a full voice & body warm up, knowledge about Shakespeare and his time, iambic pentameter, verse & prose use & analysis, line ending/shared lines analysis, sililoquies and their purpose and exercises and tools to apply and help create meaning while personalising the text.

Claire Pearson has over ten years experience across acting, writing and performance. She graduated from Queensland University of Technology's Bachelor of Fine Arts (Acting) degree in 2008, later studying Shakespeare at the Royal Academy of Dramatic Arts (RADA, London,2011) after receiving grants from the Ian Potter Foundation: Cultural Trust & Arts Queensland: Career Development fund. Claire has worked with the Queensland Theatre Company, Queensland Shakespeare Ensemble (Core member 2010), Laboite Theatre Company, 4MBS Shakespeare Festival, Queensland Ballet, The Good Room, Dead Puppet Society, Underground Cinema (Melbourne), High Tide Theatre Company/ Only Connect (UK), Boutique Theatre and Act-O-Matic 3000. She has also performed in Brisbane Festival, Adelaide Fringe Festival and has written and produced the comedic sell out seasons of Mona Brow Williams presents (Anywhere Theatre Festival) and Battlefield Blues (Melbourne Fringe Festival). Claire has been in many short films and Australian features, winning the Best Female Actor at the Warner Roadshow Queensland New Filmmaker awards, 2008. Claire recently wrote, produced & starred in her own short film "From Bella to Chanel: A day in the life of Kristen Stewart" which has been screened across Melbourne & Sydney.

Claire studied a Certificate IV in Training & Assessment in 2015 and has since taught at Acting Performance Studio Australia, Centre for Adult Education, Australian College of Dramatic Art, Hot House Theatre, Western Edge Youth Arts and the Fairfax Youth Initiative Festival.

Claire has recently been cast as Lavinia in Burning House Theatre's production of Titus Andronicus.
