Sir Coco is a fresh new Melbourne duo who will become known for their unique style of acrobatic weirdness and joyful audience interaction. It is made up of Caesar, a Melbourne based artist whose time is spent performing, teaching and wowing audiences with clownish charisma. Jonno Katz is an international touring artist who has made a bag of solo shows including Cactus – the seduction. Two of his shows were directed by Mark Chavez from the Pajama Men and he directed all of Die Roten Punkte’s music videos. In his spare time he teaches Acroyoga and Contact Improvisation Dance.

Sir Coco use physical comedy as a platform to deliver laughs and connect with the audience. Playing with dance and storytelling, Yeah will be an orient express of whalespeak and finding love while upside down.

“We want to bring the whimsy back to physical theatre” said Caesar, “So many shows aim to leave audiences with a serious take home message, whereas we make people laugh till their sides hurt and joy springs from their hearts.” Jonno adds, “It’s being political by not being political.”

The duos love of obscure dance routines and playful hip-hop ukulele solos promises to bring audiences “a little bit of Sir Coco healing” in a show that is fast gaining attention from one of their friends. One of Jonno’s previous shows was described by The Age’s Helen Razer as “a carnival of boundless imagining and endlessly mutating self.” So there might be some of that in this show.
