After performing to a sell out crowd at the Melbourne International Jazz Festival in June, Speedball returns for 2 final shows for 2017.

The dynamic long-running Australian group has set audiences alight since 2000. Their signature brand of no holds barred, high intensity performances has earnt them a reputation as one of the country’s most exciting ensembles.

No strangers to international success, members of the band have performed with heavyweights such as Ron Carter, Herbie Hancock, Joe Lovano, Chick Corea, Terence Blanchard, Miguel Zenon, Jose James, Gregory Porter, and Kenny Werner.

The combined accolades of the group's members are extensive, including a Clifford Brown/Stan Getz fellow, an APRA Professional Development Award, Bell Awards, ARIA nominations, National Jazz Awards, James Morrison Scholarship recipients, and MCA Freedman Fellowship finalists.

The experience of the band members is reflected in their appearance on the faculties of such institutions as the prestigious Juilliard School of Music, University of Miami, Monash University, and the James Morrison Academy.

After an extended hiatus, 2017 finds Speedball back together and finally releasing their highly anticipated debut album, "We Have Moved". The album was a nominee for The Age Music Victoria 'Best Jazz Album' for 2017.
