In a typical restaurant, on a typical night, The Big Meal by Dan LeFranc tells the extraordinary story of an ordinary family. This multi-award nominated Australian premiere is a stunning, big-hearted play that spans nearly eighty years in roughly ninety minutes.

Somewhere in America, in a typical suburban restaurant on a typical night, Sam and Nicole first meet. Sparks fly. And so begins an expansive tale that traverses five generations of a modern family, from first kiss to final goodbye.

“Packed with humanity and humor, The Big Meal dishes up laughs and tears.” - New York Daily News

Dan LeFranc’s, The Big Meal received its world premiere at American Theatre Company in Chicago, where it was declared the “#1 Play of 2011” by Time Out Chicago and garnered five Joseph Jefferson Award nominations. The play received its off-Broadway premiere at Playwrights Horizons, where it picked up a Drama Desk nomination and four Lucille Lortel nominations, including for Outstanding Play.
