‘The Player’ eSports Tournaments create entertainment for youth while facilitating bonding, teamwork and friendships. If you would like to be a sponsor of this youth focused community event we would love to hear from you!

This Sunshine Coast eGaming Tournament is a school holiday event for gamers 14–17, a get together with friends, and neighbours to play popular console games.

There are multiple games in this tournament style event, to find ‘#ThePlayer’.

Utilising the Hive business space, we have access to the uncontended internet and great facilities in a central location.

Encouraging kids to interact and socialise, rather than socialising through online systems and non-face-face interactions. The event is designed so that participants will experience a safe, welcoming and competitive forum for entertainment, fun and excitement.

All the necessary equipment (games, consoles, and controllers) will be provided. If participants would rather use their own controller, they are encouraged to bring them. We also anticipate having a projector screen showing a ‘director style’ live stream of the event for spectators along with the stream being broadcast to YouTube and Twitch.

The goal for each team or individual is to win the race/game or get the most number of points in the allocated time. The team(s) or individual(s) with the most wins/points will be rewarded with prizes at the conclusion of the event.

Throughout the afternoon, teams can also compete for smaller spot prizes. We aim to encourage positive relationships and team building skills among the youth, by hosting an event where kids of similar interest are able to interact with each other in an environment they are somewhat familiar with.
