To celebrate Mother’s Day, YIRRAMBOI’s Elders invite you to join them on the banks of the Birrarung (Yarra River) to honour new Mums and celebrate new life.

The YIRRAMBOI Elders Council will welcome bubs (0 – 24 mths) and their carers onto country, in a traditional Kulin ceremony, gifting our little ones with their first possum skin pelt in acknowledgment of their future role as keepers & protectors of Kulin country.

After the ceremony, Mum's can then make their way to have their photo taken with their baby, wrapped in a cloak. There will be activities for children and parents including ochre painting; natural jewellery making and making possum skin arm bands. Morning tea will be served for our new Mum's, carers and bubs.

Photos will be sent to the mum's within a week of the ceremony.

Register your bub for this special Mother’s Day event. Places are strictly limited.
