With guests Missy Higgins, Colin Lane, Elana Stone + more!

It’s become a thing. We’re not talking about the birth of Jesus and how we’ve ended up celebrating it each year. We’re talking about the annual Tripod Christmas show (though it’s not entirely unrelated).

Tripod, beloved, hilarious, on-the-cusp-of-curmudgeonly Melbourne-based singing trio, started doing these things in the deep, dark late 1990s. Why? Because, however you feel about Christmas, the music about and around it always makes you feel magical just when you need it: in the lead up to Christmas. (Tripod also thought it might improve their chances of starring on Carols By Candlelight. The Ray Martin-hosted Melbourne one, not the trashfest that they do in Sydney).

Tripod, of course, will be smashing out their original Christmas-based tunes, including the one about spending Christmas with your loved one’s loved ones, the one about whether Santa has a valid visa and the one about the reindeer who had no nose, answering the question: If Bing Crosby, Willie Nelson and Sting grew up in Melbourne’s south-east, what would Christmas sound like?

Tripod will be joined by special guests Missy Higgins, Colin Lane, Elana Stone, Xani Kolac and Brian Nankervis.
