Abraska is a new face on an established collective of accomplished Adelaide musicians.

Abraska has emerged from national touring band Conchillia, fresh with new ideas and a different purpose; the sound is more deliciously diverse, the band’s personality has evolved, its appeal more instantaneous. Abraska is the sum of great experience, yet is still deliciously new. The core band members have crafted a deep mutual understanding from four years of performing together. It’s the basis of Abraska’s live show that elevates to giddy heights, as deft musicianship and astute performance skills enable the band to revel in the moment, pump up the fun and take the audience higher.

Abraska are touring through SE Queensland and northern NSW during January to release their new single 'Lanterns'.

‘Lanterns’—the first single released by Abraska—reflects a powerful story about the origins and identity of this exciting and eclectic Adelaide band. The core of the sound and foundation of this band has been established through several years of careful development, recording and national touring.

‘Lanterns’ is a delicious mix of musical ideas and influences; the immediate seduction of a swirling Afrobeat groove, but then reaching far beyond West African influence to add the grit and keen edge of indie attitude, the intelligence and training of serious jazz, the crafty embrace of pop melody and sassy style.

Join Abraska for a night of fun music (and perhaps a boogie).
