Olfat Mahmoud, founder and director of the Palestinian Women's Humanitarian Organisation (PHWO) based in the Bourj al-Bourajneh refugee camp in Lebanon, will be in Australia to talk about the present-day plight of Palestinian and Syrian refugees in Lebanon. She will also talk about the Palestinian Right of Return on which her book Tears for Tarshiha is based. In her book to be launched in Australia, Olfat tells the story of her career as a registered nurse, peace activist and director of PWHO. It highlights Olfat's life mission—to fulfil the dream of her parents and grandparents to return to their hometown, Tarshiha in Palestine.
Light catering and tea/coffee will be available.
Free event, but please RSVP to assist us with catering numbers.
Event hosted by the Australian Friends of Palestine Association (AFOPA) and Union Aid Abroad-APHEDA.
