Eritrean blooded, Arig Mohammed Mussa Ferej was born on January 3rd in the city of Khartoum, Sudan. Arig touched down on Australian soil as a wide-eyed 2-year-old with her 17-year-old mother in the early nineties.

Growing up in a single mother household with no income, in a crowded unit complex she observed and learned the unfortunate traps and social shortcomings of such a situation. Arguments in the hallways, drug abuse, and misdemeanor were all a product of the low socio-cultural context she had now been subject too. Amongst the chaos, Arig found peace in a small bedroom, a hairbrush in place of a microphone and a very big dream.

From the ages of 18 to 23 Arig dedicated her time and efforts into recording project after project without avail, she thought. In the few years of brooding she was oblivious to the blossoming of her own sound. Serendipitously she crossed paths with Imraan Palekar once twice and then the third time she knew it was an omen and only one could boil the encounter down to fate. A verse here, a chorus there, and an unmatched chemistry could only create what was to come.

one year later Attrition the EP was born. Marked as an affirmation to the mastery of Arig's ability and one to the world as a first official stand-in music.
