About The Australian Spirit Project

The engaging, four-year Australian Spirit project honours the WW1 and ANZAC centenaries, defence force veterans and their families through compelling works of visual art and poetry which have been successfully exhibited throughout the Central Coast, regional NSW and the ACT.

The complete collection (2015-2018) of art, poetry and biographies has also been skillfully captured in the Australian Spirit commemorative book which is available for purchase @ The Family Fun Day event also marks the completion of the project.

What People Are Saying About Australian Spirit

“I feel this project has been conceived, planned and executed brilliantly in its aim to honour service personnel but not only that, I believe it has helped with giving certain veterans a welcome home that perhaps they never received.

I myself would like to see this project supported by the Government of Australia to continue this great work, with the proceeds going to support the mental and physical health of our veterans.” - Chad Elliott, Participating Veteran

"Meticulously built over 4 years of celebrating Gallipoli's centenary, I highly recommend this important collection of intimate creations to be studied in English, History and Art classes where "the truth about war" needs to be distilled." - Dennis Arkapaw, Secondary English History Teacher

“I congratulate Art Studios Cooperative on an excellent initiative and applaud the work of the all involved - veterans, artists and supporters - to bring this project to fruition and heartily commend it to new supporters.” - Dr Brendan Nelson, Director, Australian War Memorial.

Australian Spirit is a vibrant collaboration between Art Studios Co-operative, all local RSL Sub Branches, Brisbane Water Legacy, Vietnam Veterans Peacekeepers and Peacemakers Association Central Coast Sub Branch, National Servicemen's Association Gosford, Homes For Heroes, Australian Light Horse Association and others.
