Dreamboogie are: Rebecca Davey; Sam Buckley; Connor O’Neill; Robert B Dillon.

Vocalist Rebecca channels the great Blues vocalists of the 1920s (Bessie Smith, Ma Rainey etc). She re-interprets the spirit of those performers for today’s audiences, using modern sounds whilst retaining the essential attitude of the music.

Using storytelling and the poetry of the Blues, Rebecca communicates with audiences. “Blues is about the truth” she states. “The joys, and sorrows of life, the challenges and excitements, love and sex - Blues addresses them all”.

Sam Buckley (guitar) styles his playing upon the classic Blues. An intense player, he takes note bending and single string playing to an extreme. Bassist Connor O’Neill, performs on the fretless bass. Sliding between notes, whilst laying down a firm groove he provides a foundation to the music.
Robert B Dillon, (drums) lays down the rock solid grooves. Influenced by Gene Krupa, he brings a flair to his performance.

They are the 2011 and 2015 MBAS Blues Performer of the Year, representing Melbourne at the International Blues Challenge, in Memphis. They have released 3 albums, which have charted on the local charts. Their debut album, I’m Ready, attaining the Number#1 position.

Warning: Contains mild coarse language, adult themes (domestic violence).
