Families are invited to celebrate Christmas Surfers Paradise-style as the precinct welcomes a sea of Santa hats, Christmas jingles and good cheer for the annual Carols on the Beach.

An initiative of Surfers Paradise Alliance and sponsored by G:link, Carols on the Beach has grown to be-come a beloved tradition for many Gold Coast families who congregate on the iconic Surfers Paradise beach to join the chorus of thousands under a blanket of stars while the ocean laps at the sand.

As the only carols concert in Queensland where the audience is positioned on the beach, families are encouraged to arrive at the venue in good time in order to pick their place to spread their picnic rug in anticipation for the show. Special guest characters and roving elves will be on hand to distribute songbooks to those already seated while families enjoy the pre-show entertainment.

This years’ free, family-friendly event is going to be nothing short of spectacular with a stellar line up brimming with exceptionally talented local musicians, dancers and special guest characters sure to bring some festive magic to the idyllic stage.

The event will culminate with a sky filled with colour and light as a fireworks spectacular launched from an ocean barge will ensure the event ends with a bang. The Surfers Paradise Surf Life Saving Club volunteers will be on hand to collect gold coin donations in ex-change for candles.

Carols on the Beach is part of a 12-day Christmas extravaganza in the precinct which includes a special visit from Santa decked out in board shorts. Families are invited to snap a selfie with Santa at his beach shack.

Visitors are invited to make the most of their Surfers Paradise visit by coming into the precinct early to soak up the festive atmosphere and have an early dinner at one of the many cafes and restaurants be-fore the carols get underway.
