City of Wanneroo Presents: The Jungle Giants

When:

Sat 3 Nov 2018, 4:00pm–9:30pm

Where: Wanneroo Showgrounds, Wanneroo Showground, Wanneroo, Western Australia

Restrictions: All Ages

Wanneroo Showgrounds will come alive with the electric energy and indie-rock sounds of Brisbane outfit The Jungle Giants, headline act for this year’s City of Wanneroo Presents Concert.

Renowned for their energetic live sets filled with charging dance hooks and contagious choruses, The Jungle Giants have played shows across America, Asia, New Zealand and Australia, with successful appearances at epic festivals such as Groovin The Moo, Falls Festival and Splendour in the Grass.

The four-piece band dominated this year’s coveted triple j Hottest 100, the only independent act to achieve four entries, including a top 20 inclusion with ‘Feel the Way I Do’. Their third album Quiet Ferocity has produced several hit singles and received widespread praise, racking up well over 50 million Spotify streams and even getting the tick of approval from publications such as Rolling Stone.

Not a bad effort for an album produced and recorded entirely themselves! Joining headliners The Jungle Giants will be Asta, LANKS, Heaps Good Friends and Spacey Jane. The combination of acts will bring a real festival feel and provide a selection of contemporary Australian music.

Asta burst onto airwaves in 2012, as the triple j Unearthed High winner. Asta will bring her up-tempo funk sounds to Wanneroo and is sure to be have people up on their feet dancing to her hypnotic beats. LANKS is the moniker of Australian songwriter, producer and multi-instrumentalist Will Cuming. With a dynamic live show, LANKS plays with a three-piece band and will belt out tunes from his debut album ‘twentyseven’, which was released earlier this year.

Heaps Good Friends have previously toured with The Jungle Giants and are gearing up to release their debut EP next year. Emma, Nick and Dan have a fun, friendly pop sound appealing to all ages. Local outfit Spacey Jane will deliver drum and guitar heavy pop melodies with memorable chorus, including their latest single ‘Cold Feet’.

Tickets are free but essential. The final exclusive City of Wanneroo resident release will be 6pm Wednesday 3 October with any remaining tickets opening to the general public 9am Friday 12 October.

The family-friendly event promises a night of free entertainment, catering for everyone in the family with brilliant live music and children’s activities. Pack a picnic or take your pick from some of Perth’s best food trucks.
