The Slow Communication Revolution.

Tired of Twitter, txtspeak and emojis? A mashup of creative writing, mystery, parlour games and low commitment pen pals. Pick up a pen and let the ink flow.

"In an age like ours, which is not given to letter-writing, we forget what an important part it used to play in people's lives." - Anatole Broyard

It's now standard to express ourselves through the immediacy of emojis, GIFs, and lols. Communicating in sentences, phone calls and letters is becoming a thing of the past. We ask, what might be lost because of this? Dead Letter Club is our answer.

“Dead Letter Club was one of the most genuinely creative, powerful and beautiful experiences I've ever taken part in.” - Gemma Jones, Craft Victoria

Sending a letter is the next best thing to showing up at someone’s door. Ink from your pen touches the stationary, your fingers touch the paper, your spit seals the envelope. These evenings are in dedication to the written word through creative letter writing. This creative social movement has now found its way over to Canada—get in on the secret and join the DLC movement.

Never fear! We have hundreds of prompt cards for those awkward moments of writers block! And what better way to write and socialise then with the aid of the famous food and brilliant bar courtesy of The Gem Bar & Dining, Collingwood. Arrive early to feast of The Gem's incredible American BBQ and pub food.

***Please note:
It's important for participants to arrive by start time 7pm and stay for the course of the correspondence.

Don't ditch your pen-pal by leaving early.
Come early for Dinner! Doors at 6pm.
Writing from 7pm–9pm (ish).
