Attending one of Dr Katherine's event isn't about motivation, because we all know motivation lasts for as long as we love a new outfit. Dr Kat's events are about education, because the more you know, the less you fear, the less you fear the more you grow. For most of us, life is like a roller coaster. One day you’re up, and one day it feels like you couldn’t have fallen any lower or harder. And that’s what the retreat is all about:
- Acknowledging the good days, but also preparing for the days that blindside you and throw you to the ground
- Learning to deal with situations with less emotion and more brain power
- Understanding why you behave the way you behave
- Understanding why you think the way you think
- Understanding why you feel the way you feel
- And so much more (as you probably already have guessed!)
The retreat is something that is still impossible for me to describe—but the one thing I can promise is that the retreat will be: confronting. Probably not what you want to hear in a world of quick fixes and diet plans, but it’s the truth.
Please note that this is a Day Retreat and no overnight accommodation is provided.

What to Bring:
- Notebook and pen
- Water bottle (we will have a refill station)
- Packed lunch for both days (we will provide snacks & bottomless tea/coffee)
- An open mind (we'll send you full instructions upon booking!)

The retreat will be held at the Type 1 Diabetes Family Centre. We get the entire building to ourselves! We decided to hold it here because we can ensure a quiet space and also minimise the ticket costs. As such, please note that if you have seen previous promotions for the retreat at the Perth Zoo, this retreat will not be held there and differ slightly in the format.
