Weekly drama/acting classes for secondary school aged students. Ages 12–18.

"Drama With A Difference" is one of Australia's leading, most established independent drama schools. With a history that spans more than twenty years, it is also the launching pad of many successful Australian actors. Our students have appeared in major and guest roles in full length feature films, independent films, almost every Australian TV show in the past twenty years, endless commercials and professional theatre shows. Many of them began as teenagers, and obtained significant roles across the entertainment industry. The school is run by professional entertainment industry practitioners and has an excellent reputation when it comes to assisting companies with castings. We can also recommend ethical agents once we get to know a student's ability.

Although the school is highly attractive to budding young actors, we are equally committed to young people who wish to attend drama classes for recreational reasons. Many attend to obtain greater confidence, increase self-esteem, make new friends, or simply to have fun! Drama is a great form of stress release for people of all ages.

Our main aim is to nurture the creativity inherent in all young people, regardless of their level of talent, experience and / or ability. We are adept at bringing young people of all levels together to create a warm, creative and energetic creative experience.

Young people will learn the skills of improvisation (coming up with ideas from their own imaginations), voice, movement (in the sense of how a character moves- not dance), group-devised script work, pre-written script work and a host of other skills that will benefit them in life.

The benefits of drama for young people extend way beyond the field of acting. In a world that is increasingly demanding upfront presentations—in later school years, at university and in the work place - the advantages of early drama classes is infinite. Young people learn to speak in front of groups of people with ease and confidence, which extends into other areas of their lives.

This is Term 1 of the school year, however students tend to continue throughout the year (although this is not compulsory). At a later stage in the year, participants will stage a "Murder Mystery" in front of a live audience. We have access to an intimate theatre, and perform a minimum of 2 shows, and sometimes more (depending on the size of the class).
