Drawing Urban Landscapes and Built Environments

Sun 27 May 2018, 10:00am–4:00pm

Where: Art Est. Gallery, 67–69 Lords Road, Leichhardt, New South Wales

Restrictions: All Ages

Listed by: art6

The subject for this one day workshop with popular tutor Jody Graham is the urban or built environment, which is any man made structures on the landscape. This is a fun and inspiring drawing workshop that will expose you to a range of interesting techniques and expand your knowledge of mark making beyond the pencil! We’ll start the workshop with a series of structured exercises that will encourage you to loosen up and explore your creative voice.

Artwork from these techniques and ideas will be developed in the second part of the class. Some skills you can can expect to learn about include; drawing, line, tone, composition, perspective and collage. A special feature of this workshop is using materials to make marks that are not usually associated with drawing and painting. Please bring your own reference images or this workshop.

Is this class right for me?
Suitable for all levels, but some prior experience drawing is an advantage.

Art Est. offers a boutique learning experience for adults, teens and children. Located in a spacious, light-filled heritage warehouse, with four dedicated teaching studios, an art gallery and a new ceramics studio. Our class sizes are kept to only 10–12 students (8 for wheel throwing pottery), ensuring each student receives the individual tuition they need.

Art classes for adults are available weekdays, evenings and Saturday mornings. We also have a great range of single day weekend art workshops available, a perfect option for visitors to Sydney looking for things to do, or for someone who doesn’t have time to commit to a term class.

Kids and Teens can build their creative skills at our after school and Saturday term classes as well as our school holiday workshops each and every holiday.
