Have you ever wanted to turn those little doodles into a bigger illustrations? Tania Mason’s 8 week term class is the perfect place to help you get started! This course is for beginners or those with prior experience who would like to explore illustration using a range of media. By the end of the course students will have the confidence and knowledge to approach many aspects of illustration, and come away with a definitive style that suits their interests and tastes.

What to expect:

Tania will create a warm and inviting introduction to the illustrator’s toolkit. Students will:

- learn to use a variety of materials including: ink, pen, charcoal, watercolour, gouache and mixed media.
- learn fundamentals skills including mark making, creating texture, line, form, outlining, light and shade.
- learn about developing compositions, discuss the important of storyline, ideas, character and subject matter within the image making process
- learn to embrace happy accidents
- work across a variety of subject matter

Is this course right for me? Suitable for enthusiastic beginners and those with prior experience who would like to learn the art of illustration.

Each week students will be introduced to materials and methods.

Art Est. offers a boutique learning experience for adults, teens and children. Located in a spacious, light-filled heritage warehouse, with four dedicated teaching studios, an art gallery and a new ceramics studio. Our class sizes are kept to only 10–12 students (8 for wheel throwing pottery), ensuring each student receives the individual tuition they need.

Art classes for adults are available weekdays, evenings and Saturday mornings. We also have a great range of single day weekend art workshops available, a perfect option for visitors to Sydney looking for things to do, or for someone who doesn’t have time to commit to a term class.

Kids and Teens can build their creative skills at our after school and Saturday term classes as well as our school holiday workshops each and every holiday.
