Captivating singer Jackie Bornstein presents beautiful tunes from across the globe with "From Paris to Brazil" @ Paris Cat Jazz Club. Driven by her love of languages Jackie has chosen an all French, Spanish and Portuguese program. Bringing her rich tones and talent for storytelling through song, Jackie takes her audience on a journey through the jazz manouche of Paris, the nuevo canción of Chile and the bossa nova of Brazil. Featuring a mixture of swing, bossa and poetry driven songs by influential composers including, Antonio Carlos Jobim, Maria Grever, Charles Trenet, Kurt Weill, Jacques Brel, Violetta Para and more.

Jackie Bornstein (voice)
Jackie Bornstein is one of Melbourne's most captivating singers. She secured sold out shows at the 2018 and 2017 Melbourne International Jazz Festival and she is a regular at Melbourne’s top jazz venues. Known for her rich tones and ability to get to the heart of a tune, Jackie brings a powerful energy to each performance. Embracing the sounds and perspectives of lyrics written in multiple languages, Jackie’s repertoire features composers from across the globe. Trained classically as a child, Jackie went on to study jazz at the Victorian College of the Arts and completed a UK Masters scholarship on the role of music in resolving conflict. She performs with a selection of Australia's finest musicians and enchants audiences with her emotive delivery and beautiful tone.

Nathan Slater (guitar)
Virtuosic guitarist Nathan Slater plays with incredible sensitivity, drawing upon the traditions of jazz, flamenco, tango, and Brazilian music. He has performed/recorded with such artists as La Rumba, One night in Buenos Aires, Ross James Irwin, and Australian tango Champion dancers Fabio Roble and Ana Andre.

Sam Keevers (piano)
One of Australia’s finest improvising pianists, Sam has performed with many of the most noted local and International musicians including Bernie McGann, Kate Ceberano, Katie Noonan, Vince Jones, Sinead O’connor, and Meshell Ndegeocello. Sam has composed for feature films and television and was nominated for an ARIA award for the album “Grace” (a duo recording with Jamie Oehlers).

Jonathan Zion (bass)
Accomplished and versatile bassist Jonathan Zion has been a regular member of Melbourne based, original jazz / improvising ensembles: “kadoonka”, “The Situationists”, “Facelifter”, Anton Delecca Quartet and the Luke Howard Trio and has also toured with Pete Murray and Deborah Conway. He has toured nationally and internationally to New Zealand the United States, Canada, Russia, Japan and Europe.

Ryan Menezes (drums)
A drummer whose versatility and sensitivity to music has found him playing in various situations from Afro-Cuban, Brazilian and various Jazz settings to Pop/Rock and R&B projects with local as well as international artists. Among others, Ryan has performed/recorded with Gary Pinto, Sam Keevers, Alex Pertout, Los Cabrones and The Tom Fryer Quartet.
