Jackie Bornstein returns to Lido Jazz Room with her rich vocals and top band. Jackie will perform an infectious repertoire featuring a mixture of ballads, bossa nova and swing tunes by influential composers including George Gershwin, Cole Porter, Antonio Carlos Jobim, Jimmy Van Heusen and more. Jackie Bornstein (voice)
Jackie Bornstein is one of Melbourne’s most captivating singers and has become a fixture on the Melbourne Jazz scene with performances at Bennetts Lane Jazz Club, Paris Cat Jazz Club, Bird's Basement, Uptown jazz cafe, Lido Jazz Room and more. Known for her rich tones and ability to get to the heart of a tune, Jackie’s 2017 Melbourne International Jazz Festival debut was a sellout. Jackie is also set to debut in 2018 at the Melbourne Recital Centre and Kew Court House. Trained classically as a child, Jackie went on to study jazz at the Victorian College of the Arts and completed a UK Masters scholarship on the role of music in resolving conflict. She has developed her own style utilizing varied vocal timbres and enjoys exploring a broad repertoire that sees her singing in French, Portuguese, Spanish and English.

James Sherlock (guitar)
James Sherlock is one of Melbourne's most accomplished and exciting jazz guitarists. He has performed or recorded with such diverse artists as New York jazz vocalist Sheila Jordan, French jazz singer Cyrille Aimee, British guitar virtuoso Martin Taylor, The Melbourne Symphony Orchestra, Megan Washington, Katie Noonan, and many more. James has performed at all major festivals across Australia and was the winner of the Ike Isaacs International Jazz Guitar Award.

Ben Hanlon (bass):
Versatile bassist Ben Hanlon performs with the Melbourne Symphony Orchestra as well as gigging around Melbourne’s jazz venues with esteemed artists including Hue Blanes, James Sherlock and Olivia and Joe Chindamo. Ben has travelled across America, Europe and Asia for study and touring, and performed a solo on David Hirschfelder’s score for 2016 film The Dressmaker.

Danny Fischer (drums):
Drummer extraordinaire Danny Fischer, continues to be one of the most in-demand jazz drummers in Melbourne after returning from New York. Danny has worked with a long list of top Australian and international musicians including Barney McAll, Gary Bartz, James Williams, George Colligan and Paul Bollenbeck. While in New York he performed with Kurt Rosenwinkel, Barney McAll and at Radio City Music Hall alongside Patty LaBelle, Chaka Khan, Gladys Knight and Diana Ross.
