Melbourne Central will proudly unveil its latest commissioned artwork for NAIDOC Week, the Kulin Mural by Yorta Yorta, Gunditjmara and Barkindji artist Josh Muir.

Coming to life on the side of the heritage-listed Coop’s Shot Tower, the mural will comprise of five panels measuring 150cm x 75cm and combine the personal, and historical, in Muir’s bold and vivid signature style.

Each panel within the mural depicts a different time of the Muir family’s ancestral journey, beginning with their origins in Barkindji country (far west New South Wales) and ending with Josh’s story in Melbourne, becoming a represented artist at MARS gallery.

Following the unveiling of the mural, art guru Bernadette Alibrando will host Melbourne Central’s ‘Walk to Art’ Tour on Sunday 15 July at 11am.

The ‘Walk to Art’ tour will share fascinating insights and information on the murals, installations and street art pieces that call Melbourne Central home.
