Sounds of India—classical Indian music is improvised with an artful and sensitive resonance between musicians and players. The Bansuri (flute) runs through Vinod Prasanna's bloodline: he is a Bansuri (flute) virtuoso who has 250 years of family tradition of flute-playing. So sacred is the tone and the history of the Bansuri, that many a Sanskrit verse credits the Bansuri as the source of 'Sawarajnana', or 'the knowledge of music'.
Bobby Singh having studied under Pandit Aneesh Pradhan is considered one of the most experienced Tabla players and is a highly respected musician in Australia in the World music scene. Vinod and Bobby present a night of classical Indian music where they will explore the mood of Raag and Taal presenting an engaging improvised conversation that starts slowly then gathers momentum until sparks fly.
