The Unicorn Hotel’s Jake Smyth, Kenny Graham and Jimmy Garside celebrate the diversity of Australian cuisine with their series of My Australia lunches.
The 'My Australia' series is designed to not only showcase the amazing produce Australians are lucky enough to use daily, but also to let some of the most exciting chefs in Australia loose in The Unicorn and let them take people through their culinary past, from where they began to where they are today.
Ben Sears of Paper Bird will grace The Unicorn as guest-chef on the day. He’ll cook some of his favourite dishes that have inspired his renowned Sydney restaurants (the Korean inspired, Paper Bird & Moon Park) and reveal what Australia means to him.
“A lot of the menu is about the dissonance and also the weird harmony between the Australia I grew up in with its milk bars, white bread and suburban back yards and the one I exist in now,” said Ben.
Each dish is nostalgic, with a unique combination of cultural references just like the diverse reality of what it means to be Australian today. The Unicorn Hotel will provide a set five-course menu and an extensive drinks menu that will reflect Sears’ dishes. Email enquiries@theunicornhotel.com.au to book tickets.
