The Underground Opera Company presentS Opera In the Caves at the atmospheric and acoustically sensational, Capricorn Caves, Rockhampton. Witness some of the country’s finest opera performers sing in the Cathedral Cave, one of Rockhampton’s most stunning natural tourist attractions.

This is the first underground location that UOC performed in with its first Opera in the Caves season held in 2008, and since, the company has dazzled audiences, with each patron keen to venture down into the caves for a superb operatic experience.

Located just 20 minutes north of Rockhampton’s town centre, the adventure begins when you enter the property. Enjoy a drink before venturing down to the caves with the audience—just 90 members—to be entertained by a line-up of four opera professionals, and an outstanding pianist.

The caves that began forming about 390 million years ago provide an intimate space for the audience to have a face-to-face relationship with the performers.
