Get your picnic blankets and beanbags ready, Park Cinema Docklands has announced it will return for 2018. Following a sell-out season last year and due to popular demand, the free outdoor cinema event is back bigger than ever with double the number of film screenings.

Located again in the heart of picturesque Victoria Harbour Docklands, the pop-up Park Cinema will screen a mix of family-friendly, classic and cult movie favourites across six glorious weeks of summer. What’s more, there will be pre-screening entertainment for punters to enjoy while they settle in with their blanket and picnic and wait for the sun to go down.

There will also be a designated food delivery drop off point for Uber Eats, Deliveroo and the like so movie goers can order their favourite local food delivered right to their bean bag.

Melbourne’s only free open-air cinema kicks off on Friday 26 January 2018, with the first three movies of the season announced, and they won’t disappoint. There will be some serious dance moves, a 40-year love story and plenty of karate moves to keep everyone entertained.

Screening schedule:
- Friday 26th January – Strictly Ballroom. Dancing is the sport and competition is fierce in this Australian classic directed by Baz Luhrmann.
- Friday 2nd February – Ethel & Ernest, presented by Melbourne International Film Festival, is an animation based on the graphic novel of the same name by English author and illustrator Raymond Briggs. The film tells the story of a couple’s love spanning 40 years.
- Friday 9th February – Karate Kid. There are plenty of karate moves in this cult classic as young Californian kid Daniel learns what it takes to master the art.

The final three movies will be announced in early 2018 so stay tuned!
