Resonant is a night that aims to showcase electronic musicians and sound artists who are pushing the boundaries of live beat based music performances with modular synthesisers and various music hardware electronics, whilst incorporating live projected visuals.

The night is very much about creating a relaxed, safe and welcoming space for all those interested, to be able to experience, socialise, network and have a creative outlet with like minded people. Each month we have three live audio performers along with a live visual performer, supported by Chris Rule (DJ).

This month (December) we have:
Gravy Murphy: Synth enthusiast Jon Murphy, originally from the UK has been releasing electronic music as Gravy Murphy for around 5 years. Jon started making music in Perth and his debut album ‘The World is You Moisture’ was one of the Vinyl Factory’s top 10 albums of the week. Recently released album ‘Malleable’ is Murphy’s first as a Melbourne local and marks his introduction to the world of modular synths.

Automatic Terror Machine: Automatic Terror Machine is the experimental music project of Melbourne musician "wily". He eschews the control and perfection of computers in favour of non-deterministic and improvisational approaches: for Automatic Terror Machine, this includes modular synthesisers (large format, Buchla, and Ciat-Lonbarde) and instruments such as piano and guitar. Expect a dynamic range from melodic Berlin school motifs to complex, inter-modulated, PA-destroying noise. Automatic Terror Machine aims to entice and reward the listener's attention, not to simply be another avant garde noise project.

Isadoré: Isadoré is the electronic singer-songwriter project of Isabelle Reynaud. She has been working hard an album which is a melting pot of flavours with danceable rhythms, huge vocals, layers of synths and samples weaving in and out of each other leading to great heights and depths. Inspired by folklore themes, world beats, dream pop and dance the ultimate aim for her music is to guide us all to a sense of power, play and discovery.

Cat Full of Ghosts: Melbourne’s own original DIY video synth inventor and live performance extraordinaire will be providing live, unique and dynamic visuals for the evening.
