Ricki and Jeremy have been performing together in many different bands over the years, playing a variety of styles in venues all across Australia. Now they combine together, in a much more intimate setting, as trumpet and guitar duo to play their favourite jazz, blues and latin standards. Come and hear them reimagine these tunes in their own creative style with vibrant melodies and a strong harmonic connection.

Ricki Malet is a highly respected, nationally-recognised trumpeter known for his work with the Mace Francis Orchestra, Fat Sparrow (co-founder), the Daniel Susnjar Afro-Peruvian Jazz Group and Odette Mercy & Her Soul Atomics—and musical direction of the WAYJO Monday Night Orchestra. He has appeared numerous times as a clinician at the Brubeck Institute Summer Jazz Colony in the USA. Ricki also was chosen as a semi-finalist at the 2017 National Jazz Awards.

Jeremy Thomson has been playing guitar since the age of 11. He has completed a Bachelor of Music (Jazz Performance) Honours at the West Australian Academy of Performing arts during which time he won the award for the best graduation recital and highest course marks in his year. Jeremy has played with some of Perth and Australia's best musicians including: Jamie Oehlers, Ben Vanderwal, Tom O'Halloran, Graham Wood, Chris Tarr, Giorgio Rojas, Mark Fitzgibbon and many more.

This is an official Jazz by the Bay event.
