Following a sold-out and critically acclaimed 2016 season at fortyfivedownstairs, Taxithi – An Australian Odyssey makes a welcomed return season to the newly opened Alexander Theatre. A stirring hybrid of personal testimony and song, Taxithi has been created from candid interviews conducted with 20 Greek women who sailed to Australia in the 1950s and 60s.

Written by Helen Yotis Patterson and featuring leading actors Artemis Ioannides (The Beautiful Lie) and Maria Mercedes (Nine), Taxithi is an impassioned musical theatre piece that explores the culture of immigration in Australia.

The event is taking place at the Alexander Theatre.
