Can connecting with our past illuminate our future? What does it mean to belong in a world that is constantly shifting? At TEDxMelbourne 2018 embrace uncertainty and connect with other curious minds as our intimate and immersive new format gently nudges you toward the unfamiliar.

Join us as we venture into The Great Unknown—Who we’ve been, What we’ll become. On Monday 13 August, cast off the conventional, arm yourself with curiosity and join your fellow adventurers, dreamers and knowledge-seekers as we throw open the doors to possibilities and delve into the big questions.

Why do some cultures celebrate death while others grieve? Is it true that to know your history is to know your future? In an increasingly data driven society are we more than just numbers? What does it mean to connect and belong in a world which keeps changing the rules?

We’ve lined up an expert team of scientists, thought-leaders and future-thinkers who can't wait to lead our expedition into the unknown. Watch this space—we'll be announcing the first of these intrepid adventurers soon!

This year, we’re giving you the option to attend either a Morning or an Afternoon Session, or immerse yourself in a full day of exploration. From 6pm onward, we'll be continuing the adventure at an exclusive The Great Unknown after party. Places are limited, more details to come.

As we bravely seek out possibility, we must orient ourselves from where we have been to where we are going. This August, join TEDxMelbourne as we embrace uncertainty.

Engage, play, connect. Dive with us into The Great Unknown.
