The 5 Lands Band
A well-established, well-known local band, The 5 Lands Band has run for over 9 years around the Central Coast—from Terrigal, to Erina and to Gosford. Named after originally forming to perform at the popular Central Coast 5 Lands Walk in Terrigal, the ever-changing line up of The 5 Lands Band, lead by Rendra Freestone, brings together some of the top musicians from the Central Coast, Sydney and Newcastle. The unique band doesn’t practice, nor write music together, but rather create improvised jams, based on funk, jazz, folk and groove. Well known for getting the dance floor filled, the 5 Lands Band kick off music at 6:30pm.

Featured Act: Daniel March
Daniel March is one of those rare artists that have a transcendent quality and ability in every element of their music. Inspired by artists such as Michael Jackson, Tupac, prolific R&B producer Babyface and indie-folk musician Ben Harper, March is a self taught multi-instrumentalist and songwriter.

With songs that intertwine words and melodies into a beautifully textured and intricate fabric, Daniel March’s poetic sensitivity, mixed with his genre blending folk and soul infused music, displays a unique talent, which led to him recording his first full length album, Love Castle Dreams, in Atlanta, Georgia USA.

The album, which showcases 9 original songs, was released on April 14th 2013 and features a stellar role call of musicians including vocalist Chantae Cann (known her work with Grammy winners and nominees India.Arie, Snarky Puppy, The Foreign Exchange), musician Khari Cabral Simmons (Donnie, India.Arie), Landon Anderson (Anthony David, Frank McComb, Fabolous), Daz-I-Kue (Bugz in the Attic), Nick Rosen and Julie Dexter.

Locally, he’s toured as a musician with Ms Murphy (The Voice), Charice (Phillipines) and Uncle Jed (Australia’s Got Talent Winners 2013). March has also worked as a songwriter and producer with Grammy nominated vocalist Dionne Farris (formerly of Arrested Development).

After a two-year hiatus, March is back with a new single, Nina. As a not for profit community space, The Rhythm Hut is dedicated to supporting the arts and music on The Central Coast, and this monthly event is open to the whole community, with entry by donation.
